Doing this piece made me realize I didn't want to make hyper realistic characters. Hair cards, skin pores, eye shaders... yeesh. I took Nate Stephens environment modeling class at Gnomon and really liked it so I decided to switch focus.

I started this project at the same time as the Star Trek bridge. I thought I'd have one hard surface environment piece and one organic. I bit off more than I could chew! In the end I switched over to the Star Trek pieces.
The Hovito Temple set was blocked out in Maya using real world measurements.
At one point I thought I was bound to be a character artist. I sculpted Indy and made a game res mesh. By the time it came to baking the normals, creating hair cards and making the shaders I realized that hyper realism was not really my thing and moved on.
